Some people might ask of this film "how did you get an ambulance?" The answer is simple: Our friend, Drew, drives an ambulance. "So is he a real paramedic?" Nope. He, Rizzotti, Burger, and their friends, Robby and Chris, purchased the ambulance for a road trip. "Did they purchase it yesterday?" No, a year ago. Stop asking me questions, this is behind the scenes, not Q&A.
No one will ask "where did you get the toaster?" To answer your not-question: the toaster came from the Pack-Rat Thrift Store where the female clerk was very enthusiastic about making sure Rizzotti and Zorn knew it still worked. On their way out, Zorn explained (by yelling) that they intended to drown and destroy the toaster. The clerk had no comment.
The first draft of the script was written by Peter months ago while he was on Ambien. While that may seem like the same thing as saying "while he was on Tylenol", make no mistake, it is profoundly different. He was taking Ambien as a result of injuring his knee and, unlike most people, Ambien has a hallucinogenic effect on him. I am certain you are pleased to have this information. Months after the original draft (which simply ended with the ambulance going to a hospital) Peter, Zorn, and Rizzotti got together to rewrite the ending and finalize the script for production.
Despite being the most complicated video we've successfully produced so far, everything from the directing, to the acting, to the filming, to the editing went very smoothly, compared to past productions. Hopefully this trend continues.
Ultimate Super Awesome Bonus Stuff:
- Alternate titles included Mechacide and Behave Little Toaster
- Travis didn't get any sleep the night before filming and was very disoriented during the whole process
- Peter hates acting and never wants to do it again (see blooper footage)
- Many months ago we put together our own $14 Steadycam and this is the first time we've actually found a good use for it (the scene with Zorn pulling the stretcher out of the ambulance)
- This is the second video we've filmed on Burger's Sony digital8 DCR-TRV730
- We spent all day (from noon until around 10pm) working on this film
- The hallway/bathroom scenes were actually shot at night after a dinner intermission
- Our dinners were free for erecting a 20ft cross
- The newspaper Peter is reading in the opening scenes includes an article seen on the right titled "Spryer gets 'dream job' as curator" -- this article was about Peter's mother
- Originally the ending title was going to say "THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU" but Zorn decided "COULD NOT" was funnier
- Continuity: Rizzotti's hands are down at his sides in the wide angle shot of him walking around in the kitchen, in the following shot, they are on his hips
- Continuity: Peter's hands on the newspaper change positions between shots
- Mistake: Rizzotti pulls Eggo Waffles out of the refrigerator rather than the freezer

"If you are a person and you are offended by this movie, kindly go fuck yourself." -Zorn "I'm really glad Peter and I took as much time as we did focusing on the cinematography. For the first time in Naked Castle history, I am pleased to call one of our videos polished. On the downside, watching Suichine around 50 times in the past six days while editing and showing the results to everyone has caused me to never want to watch this fucking video again." -Travis "I can honestly say the fake credits at the end is my favorite moment in any of our movies. I smile everytime." -Peter "I love that this film has no crappy shots, and the $14 steadycam has definitely proven itself. Also the ending credits/dance sequence is fucking genius." -Rizzotti "I love the film, but the bloopers were funnier to watch." -Mike
