Behind the Scenes

The night we filmed this video we spent hours sitting around at Sean's house doing nothing and trying to think of something to film. You could say we forced ourselves to make a movie. After walking around Sean's neighborhood for an hour filming lighting and thunder, we ended up back at Sean's house where he found the "Chubbles" teddy bear things used in the film. We decided to take random quotes from the course of that day and combine them to make a script of random dialogue for a "children's show" type satire where the Chubbles would be our stars.

Travis spent close to an hour putting together an entire language for Sean and Peter to speak instead of just saying their lines with high pitched voices. However, the language sucked and was too hard to pronounce so the idea was trashed. For an example: "Purple, Pupu" becomes "Kafikov Koofkoof" in Chubbulish. After all was said and done, the actual filming took place around 4am.

The full version was about 1:30 in length, but after seeing it all edited together we realized the "random quotes" theory failed miserably but the ending 30 seconds was still funny, so we just cut out the rest. Side note: the script was written on a paper grocery bag.

Interesting fact: Travis and Rizzotti sang and recorded their own theme song for Chubbulon Pupu's opening scene but they couldn't make any music to go with it so they gave up and decided to use the Teletubbies theme song in reverse after discovering that anything played backwards is hilarious.
